Franz Valley COPE on GroupMe

Volunteer-run emergency communication · Franz Valley & Knights Valley

Neighbors use this GroupMe group to share urgent local emergency information. Managed by Franz Valley COPE volunteers, it is not a government service and does not replace 911, official alerts or evacuation instructions.

Call 911 first when emergency response is needed, then post to the group. Do not expect the group administrator or another member to call for you.

Emergency messages only

  • Share information neighbors need immediately: fire or smoke, a tree blocking a road or on power lines, or a lost or found child.
  • No chitchat, politics, thank-you messages, community events, routine internet outages or lost-pet posts. Every message notifies the whole group.
  • Post only urgent information directly related to an emergency. Members who do not follow the rules may be removed.

How to join

You must own property in Franz Valley or Knights Valley. Group administrator Val Swisher must add you before you can join.

  1. Email Val at valswisher@gmail.com with your first and last name, property address and cellphone number.
  2. Install the GroupMe app on your phone. Once Val has added you, join Franz Valley COPE.
